Automated BIOS configuration

A Host Computer reads the Target Computer's live BIOS screen through paired video capture cards and drives every keystroke back automatically. BrainBox configures BIOS the moment a target is attached — zero manual menu navigation.

Real-time spec capture & boot history

PXE-boot (network boot — no USB stick needed) inspects the machine and reports full specs back to the tracking system live, alongside every prior boot for that unit — so a loading technician can confirm the order matches before entering a PIN to start the automated load.

Image & Close

Hands-off Windows imaging

WinPE (Windows' pre-install repair environment) formats the disk, pulls the Windows image over the network, and installs drivers for hardware a custom client app detects. Windows re-scans for devices only visible after first boot and reboots a second time automatically — minimizing manual touches per unit.

Guided closing checklist

A custom closing app displays full specs and walks the technician through what's left — partition a second drive, fix missing display drivers, complete Windows Activation, confirm a DVD drive reads a disc. Verified and PIN-confirmed, then sysprep seals the image.

Full unit traceability

Every unit is searchable by brand, model, serial number, station number, and BTO (built-to-order) order number, with status filters for Complete, In Progress, Idle, and Manual — plus lookups by the Loader, Verifier, or Closer who worked it.

Operational analytics

Aggregate reporting surfaces top configured models, top stations by volume, total brands configured in a date range, and pass/fail/idle station counts — real floor analytics, not just per-unit status.

Native StockWise integration

Stock-in and stock-out post directly to StockWise over a dedicated API — quantities update, new products get created, and asset IDs come back automatically.

Optional wipe & grade pipeline

Refurb lines can run a disk-wipe pass ahead of or instead of Windows imaging, with hardware condition grading (A/B/C/Fail) captured as part of that flow before the unit moves on.

Network scanners watch, they don't build

Lansweeper and Device42 are excellent at watching assets that are already deployed and already talking on a network. Neither one can reach a machine before its OS boots — so neither can configure BIOS, drive a driver install, or hand a generated asset tag to a printer.

BrainBox stations post hardware specs directly to StockWise's stock-in and stock-out API. Inventory doesn't get updated later by someone with a spreadsheet — it gets updated the moment the unit is built.

  • Stock-in and stock-out payloads carry full hardware specs — serial, make, model, CPU, RAM, disk, GPU.
  • Existing inventory records get updated in place; unrecognized units automatically create a new product.
  • Asset IDs are generated and returned automatically — including on spec-mismatch corrections — so labels always print.
  • Every mismatch between incoming and stored specs is logged with a full diff, not silently overwritten.
